Clean Up Australia Day (Freycinet)

A simple backyard idea has become the nation’s largest community-based environmental event, Clean Up Australia Day. In the past 25 years, Australians have devoted more than 27.2 million hours towards the environment through Clean Up Australia Day and collected over 288,650 tonnes of rubbish. A group of Saffire Care For Our Community (CFOC) members and other Saffire team members and family participated in 20 years of Clean up Australia Day and collected rubbish on Muirs Beach and Coles Bay Esplanade.
The 06/03/16 was a beautiful day to clean up Saffire’s closest beach and the Coles Bay Esplanade. CFOC members and Saffire staff and family participated in the event and collected approximately 6 large bags of rubbish. As a group of 10 we were able to spend 4 hours in total collecting empty bottles, plastic pieces and building materials out of the dunes.
